Social Security checks of about 2000 elderly & disabled people have failed to show up in Western Queens, and the local city councilman has been getting calls about it. So far, the culprit remains undiscovered. The social security administration says it's working with the post office to find the missing checks that should have arrived March 30th. It suggests residents in Long Island City and Astoria -- many of whom live in the Queens bridge Houses -- visit their local social security office to receive immediate emergency checks.
