NEW Until 05/03 Changes to State Parks Access Pass Program which provides NYS residents with certain disabilities free entrance to public places of recreation such as State parks, campsites, cabins, golf courses, and other sites under OPRHP’s jurisdiction. They proposed revising the program so that two categories of PWDs (who are semi-ambulatory & those receiving federal social security disability or SSI), will no longer be eligible to receive an Access Pass. Thee program will continue to provide free access to PWDs who are blind, deaf, non-ambulatory, amputees, disabled veterans, or those who have a mental disability. The OPRHP also has a rulemaking page that includes a copy of the revised Access Pass regulations, a six-page Regulatory Impact Statement, and a summary page at: nysparks.state.ny.us/inside-our-agency/rulemaking.aspx Other information about the OPRHP is available on their website at: nysparks.state.ny.us/
