STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- An inaugural golf fundraiser to benefit Lifestyles for the Disabled on Staten Island is on tap for Wednesday, July 28, at the Silver Lake Golf Course. The outing will honor Robert Witkowski (Bobby Wit) for his contributions to individuals with disabilities in the community of Staten Island.
The event will include a golf tournament to be followed by an awards dinner at the Staaten, West Brighton, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Lifestyles for the Disabled is a not-for-profit agency that began on Staten Island 16 years ago. It continues to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities and affords them the opportunity to become productive and independent members of the community.
What began as an agency serving 10 members has evolved into an organization that serves more than 200 members and their families.
