James Weisman, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for United Spinal
Association, will speak about the history of the disability rights
movement in
NYC, focusing on two major issues-transportation and accessibility-from the
1970s to today. This presentation is intended to tie in with other
programs being
presented across the U.S. and other countries to raise awareness of
disability
history in the month of October.

Real-time (CART) captioning will be provided for this program. In addition,
the room where this program will be held has a copper loop installed to
provide
accessibility for those with hearing aids with T-switch; there will also
be a
limited number of FM assistive listening devices with headphones or
neckloops.
