Thursday's Child is an Early Intervention program serving the needs of children diagnosed with PDD/Autism. We utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Discrete Trial Learning in an intensive, individualized, instructional setting. Incidental Teaching and Observational Learning are an additional component used to foster a child's learning and facilitate generalization of learned skills. Sensory needs are addressed using sensory integration techniques which are implemented by all clinical staff. An additional component to enhance socialization skills is available through daily interaction with typically developing peers in a daycare classroom at the center.

CDF provides a strong, effective voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby, or speak for themselves. We pay particular attention to the needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities. CDF educates the nation about the needs of children and encourages preventative investments before they get sick, into trouble, drop out of school, or suffer family breakdown.

In 1992, the Children's Defense Fund established an office in New York City, a city where 30% of children live in poverty and children account for 43% of the homeless population. We are recognized as an authority in the endeavor to protect children and strengthen families.

The Jorge Posada Foundation is a non-profit organization established by the New York Yankees’ All-Star Catcher, Jorge Posada, and his wife, Laura. Their son, Jorge Jr., was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis when he was just ten days old and had to undergo five major surgeries to correct the condition.

Through the Foundation, the Posada Family is able to: reach out to those families in need, whose children are affected by Craniosynostosis, and provide them with emotional support through its family support network; provide financial assistance to underwrite a portion of the costs of initial surgeries in its partner medical centers; and encourage further research of this medical condition. The Foundation also strives to create awareness through events and through funding other educational outreach efforts.

Winning Beginning NY is a statewide coalition working to inform policy-makers and the public about the many benefits of early care and learning to children, families and society. The coalition aims to build a broad-based constituency to make investment in quality early care and education a top public priority in New York State.

Offers classes to teach sign language to pre-verbal children, including babies and young children with autism.
