Sunshine Foundation
Sunshine answers the dreams of seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children, between the ages of 3 and 18, from all over the country.
Sunshine Foundation is the original wish granting organization founded in 1976 by former Philadelphia police officer Bill Sample. While on protective duty at a Philadelphia area children's hospital, Bill witnessed firsthand the financial and emotional burden placed on the families of children with illnesses. He saw that so many families could not afford to give their sick child one last wish, Bill, with the help of a handful of other dedicated people, got together to give Sunshine's first wish- a trip to the for Bobby, who wanted to see the mountains and play in the snow. Bobby passed away a short while after that, but not before his only wish was realized.

Children of Difference Foundation, Inc.
(1 vote)
The Children of Difference Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to correcting stereotypes and promoting awareness about the issues facing people who differ from societal norms.
It is our belief that until society breaks through prejudices and preconceived notions of normalcy, people who are different will never be truly accepted and feel comfortable.
The Foundation's work is all about positve exposure and our purpose is to encourage people of all ages to examine their understanding of difference and to begin to search for the similarities, not differences, between themselves and others.

Parent to Parent of New York
We offer parents/caregivers the opportunity to connect one-to-one with a parent/caregiver of an individual with the same or similar disability or special health care need -- someone who has "been there". Our trained volunteer Support Parents provide emotional support and information by telephone or Email to other families who face similar challenges. Whether it's for a new diagnosis, a hospitalization, or a life transition, talking with another family who’s “been there†is extremely helpful.
