The Mid-Hudson Valley Camp is a summer camp that serves a diverse group of people. What started as a one-week summer session for children with disabilities in the 1970s has blossomed into a nine-week camp program that caters to the needs of children and adults with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities, deaf children, children living with cancer, pediatric patients from Harlem Hospital’s Family Care Center, and inner-city students. For over 35 years, the camp has served hundreds of persons with disabilities and continues to provide children, teens, and adults with a joy-filled summer camp experience.

From camp directors to kitchen crew, our camps are staffed solely by volunteers. The young men and women we rely on to assist us generously take time out of their hectic schedules, sacrificing summer jobs and personal vacation time, to ensure that every camper has a counselor to rely on.

SummerScope is a FREE summer program referral/advisory service dedicated to helping families find the most suitable summer camps for kids and summer programs for teens.
Since 1984, we have helped hundreds of families with the time-consuming and confusing process of finding the best overnight/sleepaway camps and teens summer program based on the particular child's personality, needs and interests. Each summer we visit general overnight/sleepaway camps (coed and single sex), specialty camps, teen camps other summer programs. Our summer camp consultants interview the directors, check out the facilities and see the summer programs in action. We take special notice of relationships between the staff and the kids and we come away having a good sense of each camp, it's philosophy, activities, and special features.

Anchor stands for Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps Through Organized Recreation. It is a year-round program, based in Long Island, New York, that sponsors such activities as sports, summer camp, dances and more.

Vacation Camp for the Blind (VCB) is owned and operated by VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a not-for-profit social service and rehabilitation agency which serves blind children, teenagers, adults, and elders located on 35 acres in Rockland County, New York. VCB began its camping program in 1926.

VCB has grown to be one of the largest and most comprehensive facilities of its kind in the United States. Each year, VCB serves nearly 600 people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired. The unique guide rail system and adapted facilities and equipment enable participants to access a wide variety of activities.
