Volunteers of Legal Service
The VOLS Elderly Project provides free civil legal assistance to elderly (60+) low income residents of Manhattan. Legal services in the Elderly Project are provided in four ways: through legal clinics for the elderly poor, legal information seminars for seniors and social work staff; telephone consultations with senior center staff; and direct referrals of appropriate legal matters to volunteer lawyers.

Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens provides civil legal services to needy residents of Queens 60 and older. Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens provides legal representation and consultation on a wide variety of legal problems of critical importance to older people. The most common legal problems of their clients are those concerning: tenants & housing, SSI & Social Security, Medicaid & Medicare, Food Stamps, utilities & consumer issues such as foreclosure, predatory lending and debt collection.

The Mental Health Project of the Urban Justice Center provides free legal and social work services to low-income people with psychiatric disabilities in New York City. MFY Legal Services
Mental Health Law Project assists over 1,000 mentally disabled individuals living in apartments in their communities and in adult care facilities, providing advocacy services, consultation, advice, direct representation, and trainings.
Adult Home Advocacy Project provides advocacy and trainings to adult home residents throughout New York City and pursues individual and affirmative litigation on issues that impact adult home residents.
Manhattan Legal Aid for Seniors Project provides holistic civil legal services to seniors living in Manhattan to help them live independent, healthy and productive lives. The project is operated in partnership with the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation.
