Helping Hands Initiative Incorporated offers a variety of services to individuals with special needs. Services include child advocacy, medical insurance assistance and physical exam assistance, referral and advisory services, housing assistance, interview assistance, scholarship services and a Music Lessons Program. The individuals who will benefit from the referral service offered by Helping Hand Initiative Incorporated include but not limited to infants, children, teens, adults and senior citizens with special needs.
Helping Hands Initiative Incorporated’s advisory service will help individuals prepare applications that will help them become as independent as possible in society. Individuals will be assisted with applications such as insurance, Social Security Benefits and hospital applications. Assistance with obtaining mobility devices such as wheelchairs and walkers will also be provided. Follow-ups with both the clients and individual organizations will be completed.

Since our founding in 1973, the goal of The Caring Community has been to assist and empower the senior citizens of New York City to remain part of a thriving community environment for as long as they are willing and able. With the generous service of over 1000 volunteers and our dedicated core staff, we offer a wide range of services and programs to seniors aged 60 and above to help ensure that they can live safely in their homes and still feel a part of a larger family. And we have taken it as our mission to do so in a manner that fosters independence, dignity and respect.
